I will go toast it's and have it sort by most recent. Then I will pick one and you do the same. Then we can compare notes. M'kay??
Ahh, Andrew. Thanks for adding my art AND me to your faves. I love the groups you've started here. I'm still such a newbie on this site. People like you are blazing trails for the rest of us and I'm so grateful!
Looking forward to learning from you ... and with you!
What a lovely, generous idea, to start a group like this and to start off with a theme of "solitude." When I am believing the thought that "i'm blocked" I've noticed that I'm mostly just resisting feeling the complexity of some emotion. Thinking it's dangerous to meet it... so I need to dance around it, or ignore it, or distract myself from it. When I do this, I'm deep sixing my creativity, too, since creativity is the companion of feeling (at least that's how it's been for me).
Solitude for me, can either be absolutely delicious...or terrifying. Depending on whether or not I'm thinking it's dangerous, somehow, to be myself. I'm going to post an image I made yesterday afternoon when I was enjoying being alone. When I look at it, I can see both the sweetness and the bittersweetness of being witness to such utter beauty alone.
Thanks for starting up this group!
You're more than welcome :) thanks for taking the time to comment and I hope you'll participate either in The Artists Block, The Workshop or Breaking New Ground, I would be happy to see you in any or all of them and thank you for adding me as a favorite artist :)
Would of course help if I posted the link :)
Quite often I go through periods where I have a creative block and I've noticed time and time again, that other people post on here that they are going through something similar.
Usually when they do, more often that not, someone (usually Sonya (creativechild)), suggests something along the lines of working to a theme or subject to get things going again.
So I thought I would shamelessly steal the idea and start a group called The Artists Block, so any time you feel stuck and need a nudge to get you going or if you're just looking for a place to post images for feedback, then this is the place :)
We will change the theme every so so often, to keep things moving along :)
So here's the link to the group and just to get the ball rolling, the theme for this inaugural debut is "Solitude".
Look forward to seeing some of you there :)
Paula, many, many congratulations it couldnt have happened to a nicer person, plus it also helps that you do amazing work :)
You know I feel the same way, your work always inspires me. Especially the beautiful ones of your children. Thank you so much Andrew xxx
Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls and Children of all ages!
Let me start off by wishing you all a happy and prosperous 2013 and may it be full of health, wealth and happiness for you all.
Now I hope that you have had to chance to polish all of your new iPhones, iPods and iPads and install some apps on them, sleep off the effects of the turkey and generally recharge your batteries because it's time for a new round of BNG.
The chosen app for this round is an oldie but hopefully a goldie and it's Percolator! So fire up your idevices and let the fun begin!
How it works
1) Grab a copy of the Percolator app if you don't have it already https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/percolator/id385454903?mt=8&ign-mpt=uo%3D4
2) Create a stunning work of art using Percolator and any other apps that you care to use.
3) Submit the image to the Breaking New Ground group
http://www.iphoneart.com/groups/394 together with a description and list of what apps you used.
Rules
There is only one rule! You must use the chosen app (this time Percolator) when creating your image but you are free to also use any other apps you like.
There is no theme, you can create any type of image that you want.
How do I submit to Breaking New Ground?
Click on Groups in the top right corner of the iPhoneArt Web site
Locate the Breaking New Ground group
On the group page, to the right of the title, you'll see an "Add to this group" button, click that, select your image and you're done!
Looking forward to seeing what you all come up with! :)
Andrew
Carol - congrats so much on the AOTD, really happy for you and thanks for everything you do for the rest of us and making this community what it is. you're a big part of it and it wouldn't be the same without you and your humour :)
Congratulations :)
Thanks, Andrew. You are so good at answering our questions, it's like having a brother who is a genius!
Hi everyone,
So after waiting up all night for Florida to decide, the results of the votes are in. Again it was a close and bloody battle at the top, with the top three positions changing on a day to day basis but we have reached a conclusion :)
So the winners for this round of Breaking New Ground are;
1st - Mickey
2nd - Dbrondeau
3rd - Fixit_inpost
Congratulations to the winners for submitting some wonderful work and really showing us what can be done with Pop Dot and thanks to last rounds winner Snapp for a good choice of App :)
I'd like to thank all of the rest of you as well for taking part in the group and submitting your work. You are all the reason that the group is as good as it is and why its so enjoyable to be a part of it.
With that being said though, we are going to take a little break now until after Christmas :) and will start a new round going in the New Year (providing of course that theory about the Mayan calendar isn't correct).
In the meantime though, please feel free to continue submitting images to the group and listing the app(s) used as it may help this rounds winner Mickey with his decision for the app to use for the next round :)
Thanks everyone and once again, please join me in congratulating the winners of this round :D
Andrew
Hi everyone,
This is just to let you know that this round of Breaking New Ground is now at a close and it's time to vote for the winner.
Could I therefore ask you to please review the images in the Breaking New Ground group at http://www.iphoneart.com/groups/394
and pick your top 3 artists.
If you could then send their names to me via a private message on my canvas - http://www.iphoneart.com/aproudlove
I will tally up the votes and announce the winner this Sunday.
Voting is open to anyone, the more the merrier and voting is usually very close, so every vote does count!
If you have any questions, please let me know!
Thanks,
Andrew
